Overview
The Gosnells City Business and Tourism Association Inc was formally incorporated in Dec 2003 with the intention of developing an active and progressive association to represent and promote business within the City of Gosnells.
The inaugural committee could see the need for a business-orientated organisation within the City that is focused solely on the interests of local business and the community. All revenue is to be directed towards programs and projects that will benefit and promote the image of local business in the community.
The Association’s objectives are simply to promote opportunity for home based business, small to medium enterprises and franchised businesses within the City of Gosnells. The Association will provide a forum for local business to highlight issues and express their concerns on matters that may affect their trade.
The Association intends to work closely with other organisations that promote business in the City of Gosnells including the Gosnells Armadale Business Enterprise Centre and the City of Gosnells, which will have representation on the Committee of the GCBTA.
Objectives
The objects of the Association as per the constitution are:
- To compile, publish and distribute information relating to or otherwise publicising the City of Gosnells with a view to attracting additional business to the City
- To encourage and promote the provision of business, accommodation, entertainment and other business orientated facilities within the City
- To sponsor, organise, or assist in tourism development within the City
- To join or co-operate with any person, firm or corporation, association, local authority or society in any act, matter or thing which may be conducive to the attainment or performance of activities or ventures within the objectives and powers of the Association
- To provide an office within the district for the purpose of promoting the development of business within the City
- To sponsor, organise, or assist in developing fellowship between supporting business in the City.
Provide Value
The GCBTA will always endeavour to provide value to its members in return for their membership contributions. The GCBTA will encourage local business to be part of an Association that supports business opportunity and growth in Gosnells and will return benefits to the community that supports them.
- The GCBTA is a non profit organisation
- Membership fees will be affordable and maintained at a minimum (presently $120)
- Revenue raised by the GCBTA will be spent, as much as possible, with local business in the City of Gosnells
- The GCBTA will be community minded and supportive of a Buy Local initiative.
The GCBTA will be totally ethical, transparent and accountable in its operations and a committee of local business people will be involved with and make all decisions.
Identify local issues and provide a forum for local business to attend and voice their concerns for action by Local or State Government authorities.
Membership
As the Association membership continues to grow the GCBTA will be implementing and continuing the following projects will continue to enhance both membership opportunities and our standing within the community:
- Regular monthly functions – Business After Hours, Guest speakers, Business Breakfasts, etc
- An association web site with links to other like organisations
- Develop and implement Buy Local - Shop Local programs
- Develop partnerships with local community newspapers
- Offer support and assistance to other local organisations with a mutual interest solely in the advancement of business within the City of Gosnells.
Who can be involved?
Anyone who has a business, or who has an interest
in business or tourism in the City of Gosnells.

How much to join?
The committee of the GCBTA has resolved
to keep membership costs low, so that it is affordable by
any business. Membership fees are also tax deductible.
